Dear East Bayside Residents,

This Thursday, October 18th, 6:30-8pm a City project manager will be presenting BIG plans for improving our pedestrian pathways. Neighborhood folks are invited to come and participate. The meeting will be held at the Root Cellar on 94 Washington Ave.

Projects include:
•Washington Avenue Shared Use Pathway - convert the existing 5’ sidewalk along Washington Avenue from Eastern Promenade to the Tukey St ramp to a 10’ shared use path with a 6’ esplanade (separating the path from Washington Avenue)
•Tukey Street Ramp Pathway - convert the approx. 26’+ off-ramp to a 16’ ramp with 10’ shared use pathway from the Washington Avenue off-ramp to Anderson St/Bayside Trail with pedestrian flasher at the ramp crossing
•3 Safe Routes to School Projects - pedestrian crossings at Washington/Eastern Promenade; Presumpscot School; Washington Ave at Maine Ave.

Hello East Bayside neighbors,

This months October 16th, Tuesday, 7pm, EBNO meeting WILL NOT be held at the Root Cellar on Washington Ave, it will instead be held at Tandem Coffee Roasters. Tandem is one of a few exciting new businesses that have made a home in East Bayside. They are located on 122 Anderson Street this months meeting location.

Join the East Bayside Organization on Saturday, September 29th from 1 to 5pm at Peppermint Park & Fox Field. We’re gonna celebrate!

Celebrate what exactly? Celebrate The Meeting Place’s year long arts-based community development project.

The Meeting Place is a multidisciplinary arts project designed to help five of Portland’s neighborhoods increase their capacity to meet these challenges by developing relationships, skills, knowledge and goals through tapping into the transformative power of the arts with a year long partnership with 10 professional artists and over 50 artists that live in the participating neighborhoods.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Maine Historical Society, in collaboration with Art at Work’s Meeting Place project, is collecting stories from four Portland neighborhoods, and we need your help. Please join us at MHS for a series of interactive, place-based storytelling workshops

There’s four workshops which start tonight. The East Bayside workshop will be held on July 31st starting at 6PM. Read their blog post for more details.
